Video of masked ICE arrest in Redmond sparks push for ‘No Secret Police’ rules

REDMOND, Wash. — A video recorded by a Redmond resident on Sunday is renewing calls for stricter rules requiring law enforcement officers, including federal immigration agents, to clearly identify themselves while interacting with the public.

The video shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arresting a man in an alley near Redmond Center. When one agent notices he is being filmed, he pulls a neck gaiter over his face. The agents then handcuff the man, load him into a vehicle and drive away.

The arrest took place in an alley only visible from a nearby pedestrian trail…
