Model train enthusiast recreates Seattle skyline with intricate miniatures

TACOMA, Wash — For more than two decades, Tim Jordan has been recreating Seattle in miniature, building an elaborate model railroad layout packed with iconic landmarks and hidden surprises.

The Bothell jet mechanic’s “Tribute to Seattle” began as a simple idea inspired by his work at Boeing Field, where he watched trains pass daily.

“I wanted to replicate what I would see out here, and it just kind of slowly morphed into Seattle,” Jordan said at a model train exhibition at the Washington State History Museum…
