Bremerton ferry riders returned to state ferries in numbers that led the entire system during 2025, and now WSF is looking to recruit some of them to help guide future planning on the route.
WSF announced 2025 ridership numbers on Jan. 14 that showed Bremerton-Seattle had the largest year-over-year increase in riders, at around 32%, driven by the restoration of two-boat car-ferry service in June. The Bainbridge-Seattle route remained the busiest in the state, with 5.2 million total riders, part of an overall system ridership of 20.1 million, which was 5% higher than 2024.
Now, a select group of riders and community members using the ferries from Bremerton and Bainbridge Island have an opportunity to guide the future planning for those routes in hopes of optimizing those two schedules by 2027…
