Meta announces layoffs to ‘reality labs division,’ including in Washington

SEATTLE — Facebook’s parent company Meta plans to lay off more than 300 employees in the state, according to a 60-day notice that was filed.

It’s part of a larger cut to jobs. Meta confirmed 1,500 jobs will be cut in its “reality labs division” nationwide.

According to the notice filed in Washington, 331 employees here will lose their jobs by March 20. Of those, 105 work in Redmond, 89 in Bellevue, 40 in Seattle and 97 are remote employees across the state…
