3,500 gallons of oily water recovered after fishing vessel Quaker Maid sinks in Seattle

SEATTLE — The Quaker Maid, a 72-foot wooden-hulled fishing vessel, sank at its moorage at the Port of Seattle’s Fishermen’s Terminal a week ago, and now the Washington Department of Ecology, along with the United States Coast Guard, reports that more than 3,500 gallons of an oily water mixture have been recovered.
