Amazon Files Notice for over 2,000 Job Cuts in Washington State

SEATTLE, WA – The Washington State Employment Security Department has received notice that Amazon plans to eliminate about 2,200 jobs across multiple western Washington counties later this year.

According to Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filings submitted to the state, Amazon expects to begin layoffs on April 28, 2026. The filings indicate 2,198 workers will be affected across various locations in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties through permanent layoffs.
