Many have been following the journey of little Dexter, son of Xander Van Heel and Lily Johnston, and his journey will now continue at Seattle Children’s Hospital, at least for the time being.
As of press time, Monday, Feb. 2, Dexter is scheduled to fly out of Great Falls to Seattle Children’s Hospital, where he will have surgery to remedy the heart condition he has been fighting, PDA (patent ductus arteriosus).
PDA is common in premature infants and is a heart condition where a temproary fetal blood vessel fails to close after birth, creating a hole in the heart. When the vessel does not close it leads to increased blood flow to the lungs…
