Bill Gates Lists Medina, Washington, Home for $4.8 Million

Bill Gates is ready to let go of one of his long-held properties in Medina, Washington. The Microsoft co-founder, who is currently making headlines for his appearance in the recent round of Epstein files released by the Department of Justice, has listed a home next to his famed estate, Xanadu 2.0, for $4.8 million. While it’s not clear if the newly listed house was used as an actual part of his compound or simply as a privacy buffer, Gates has owned the the four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom dwelling for quite a while; he bought it for $1 million in 1995, the year after marrying his now ex-wife, Melinda French Gates.

Here’s what you need to know about the Amazon founder’s homes, from his estate in Florida’s Billionaire Bunker to his Washington, DC, mega-mansion

The property is a 2,780-square-foot traditional-style residence on Lake Washington, complete with deeded water access. The olive green, L-shaped abode features brick and wood siding. Just beyond its foyer, a step-down living room with a fireplace offers a view of the lake, while a dining room (also with a fireplace) spills out onto a balcony overlooking the water. The modern, all-white kitchen centers around a butcher block countertop with a breakfast bar, and nearby French doors open to a massive deck, providing a sprawling space for outdoor entertaining, with steps leading down to the water below. The primary bedroom also highlights a private balcony, plus a rather modest walk-in closet and an ensuite bath with dual vanities. Though the home is single-story, the finished basement offers up another bedroom along with an office and a family room—both with fireplaces—and access to the sloped backyard.
