Kent Police arrest 17-year-old after attempted ATM robbery, pursuit and crash

A 17-year-old Kent resident was arrested on Monday, Feb. 16 after police say he attempted an armed robbery at an East Hill bank ATM, fled in a stolen vehicle and was later taken into custody following a crash and foot pursuit.

Police said that officers were dispatched at about 8 a.m. to a bank on Kent’s East Hill after a 36-year-old Kent man called 911 to report that a masked suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded cash while he was at an ATM. The victim had a child in his car at the time, police said.

The victim told officers the suspect did not obtain any money and fled minutes earlier in a silver Toyota. Although the victim did not have a license plate number, he provided a detailed description of the suspect and vehicle, police said…
