A 48-year-old felon with active felony warrants was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly breaking into a safe with a crowbar, stealing a gun, and running from the cops.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a weapons call near E. Denny Way and 20th Avenue, SPD announced.
Suspect fled with stolen gun before foot chase, arrest
The caller witnessed a man break into a discarded safe in an alleyway and remove a handgun from it. The suspect, armed with a crowbar, hammer, and now a gun, quickly fled the scene.
As officers searched the neighborhood, they located the suspect walking nearby. When they ordered him to stop, he ran away from SPD. During the chase, the suspect ditched his backpack just before officers arrested him…
