New USPS Commemorative Bruce Lee Stamp Unveiled in Seattle

The USPS has announced the latest in their series of commemorative stamps, this one honoring a martial arts legend.

Bruce Lee Stamp Will Be Available Soon

USPS senior vice president of facilities and infrastructure Ben Kuo spoke at the unveiling event, held at the Nippon Kan Theater in Seattle on Tuesday, February 17th.

His daughter, Shannon Lee was in attendance at the event. Lee was famous in Hong Kong as a martial arts and movie star before arriving in the US, and fast becoming the biggest, and first, Asian leading man in American movies.

Bruce Was Not his Original First Name

Lee, whose Cantgonese name was Lee Jun Fan, was born in November of 1940 in San Francisco. After appearing in a few movies as a child, he left for China to study varioius forms of martial arts, returning in 1959. He was given the surname Bruce at an early age, and it stuck with audiences.
