A man was found dead in the Illahee Preserve Wednesday, Feb. 18, and his death is being investigated as an overdose.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office announced the man was found on the northwest side of the preserve, near Highway 303 in the area where a former coffee stand was located not far from the intersection with McWilliams Road, around 2 p.m. KCSO advised the community to avoid the area while the discovery was investigated, though here were no signs of foul play that suggested a public threat.
KCSO spokesman Kevin McCarty said the 35-year-old man was discovered by someone walking by, who then called 911. According to McCarty, it is uncertain where the man was from, although observations of the area suggested he was camping there and there were signs of drug use…
