Man waited for stranger to hit with car, killed 88-year-old before hitting 2 others: cops

BELLEVUE, Wash. (WKRC) – A man allegedly waited for someone to hit with his car, eventually murdering an 88-year-old woman before going on a hit-and-run spree that involved two more victims.

According to court documents obtained by local outlet KIRO, 68-year-old Mark Adams was “lying in wait for a pedestrian victim” in his white Toyota Camry outside of a YMCA on February 28. After roughly an hour of waiting, 88-year-old Shinko Oshimo was walking through the parking lot when Adams accelerated toward her and adjusted its position to strike her, per information from prosecutors obtained by KOMO.

Witnesses and security video showed Oshimo was carried for around 120 feet on the hood of Adams’ vehicle before she fell to the ground. Adams allegedly drove over Oshimo while she was on the ground and did not stop until he had left the area…
