SEATTLE — Flags will be lowered to half-staff across Washington state Wednesday to honor Rev. Jesse Jackson, who died last month.
Gov. Bob Ferguson directed all Washington state and U.S. flags to be lowered at state agency facilities through close of business or sunset March 11.
A civil rights leader and two-time presidential candidate, Jackson had strong ties to western Washington. He made prominent appearances at the 1990 Goodwill Games, where he took the stage at Seattle Center and urged Soviet and American visitors to embrace peace.
