Rise Baking Co. Expands UT Facility, Closes WA Plant

Rise Baking Co. will add 115,000 square feet of manufacturing space to its Pleasant View, Utah, facility this year as part of a network consolidation that includes closing its Kent, Washington, plant. The expansion is expected to create 170 new jobs and is slated for completion in 2026.

The Pleasant View facility has operated since 1994 and currently spans more than 142,000 square feet of production and cold storage space, specializing in cookies and icings. The expansion will add pie production capacity alongside infrastructure upgrades including advanced wastewater management systems and energy-efficiency improvements.

Consolidating around a core facility

CEO Mark McNeil said the strategy is about building a more rational manufacturing network rather than simply adding square footage.

“This expansion is about building a smarter, more efficient manufacturing network that better supports our customers today and positions us for the future. By further investing in Pleasant View, we’re optimizing our pie production footprint while creating additional footprint and capacity to support future growth, strengthening our ability to deliver the quality and consistency our customers rely on,” McNeil said…
