King County to weigh 0.1% sales tax hike for roads as transportation funding crisis grows

SEATTLE — King County is at a crossroads over a dire crisis in transportation funding, and an increased sales tax is one solution under consideration.

The county’s Road Services Division needs about $200 million each year for maintenance and safety improvements, but has only a fraction of that amount on hand.
