KIRKLAND — Dean Weidner, philanthropist and founder of Weidner Apartment Homes, died last week at age 83.
Weidner founded the Kirkland-based company in 1977. Under his leadership, it became one of the largest owners of multifamily housing in North America, with 74,667 apartments across 14 states and four Canadian provinces, according to a press release.
