Early Thursday, March 26, Seattle police officers were called to the 1700 block of 17th Avenue after reports of a shooting. They found an adult man inside an apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers provided first aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and took the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. After investigating, police determined the incident was a suicide attempt. The firearm was recovered, and the Gun Violence Reduction Unit assisted with the investigation.
