A Friday afternoon shooting along Southeast Renton‑Issaquah Road left one person dead and a major investigation unfolding in the Renton area.
Deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office were called around 2:40 p.m. to the 16400 block of the roadway, where they found a victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. The area stayed locked down as an active crime scene while investigators worked into the evening, collecting evidence and documenting the surroundings.
According to KOMO News, the King County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were responding to reports of a shooting and that the department’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case. KOMO reports that the King County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity and official cause of death at a later time.
