Yesler Way Knife Ambush Rocks Downtown Seattle At Midday

Two people were seriously hurt in a knife attack in downtown Seattle on Saturday afternoon, and both were taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The assault briefly brought a wave of emergency crews into the area and drew a strong police response as detectives began sorting out what led up to the violence. What police said

According to KING 5, officers were called just after 1 p.m. to the 200 block of Yesler Way. There, they found a 31-year-old woman with a significant laceration to her arm and a 37-year-old man with a cut to his forehead. Medical crews treated both victims at the scene before transporting them to Harborview in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police told KING 5 that the man was injured while defending the woman. Investigators described the suspect as a man in his 40s who ran from the area on foot before officers arrived. The specific circumstances that led to the attack are still under investigation.
