Man Who Crashed Into Hazel Alexander Remains In Jail

A high-speed chase through Columbia Falls that ended with a head-on crash east of town where Hwy 2 meets Hwy 206, had a young woman in a Seattle Hospital and a man in jail. In jail is 34-year old Alfred Chester-Paul Flamond, where he’s facing a host of felony charges. And that’s where he’s going to stay. At a hearing to reduce his bond before District Judge Dani Coffman, not only did she not decrease his bond, she raised it to $500,000.

Driving the other vehicle that night was 16-year old Hazel Alexander (pictured above), a junior at Columbia Falls High School. Her injuries, severe enough to land her at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She’s now recovering at home.

The community has responded with fund-raiser and, yesterday, showed up at the County Justice Center, resisting a move to reduce Fammond’s bail enough so he could get out of jail…
