Dozens flee Seattle waterfront after man brandishes switchblade among crowd

SEATTLE — Dozens of people ran from the Seattle waterfront Wednesday afternoon as police confronted a man they say was walking through the area with a switchblade.

Seattle police arrested a 38-year-old man on April 8 after patrol officers responded at about 4:40 p.m. to reports of a man brandishing a knife near Alaska Way South and Yesler Way.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found the suspect holding a silver knife and ordered him to drop it. The man allegedly ignored multiple orders and continued walking toward the Seattle Aquarium…
