Bremerton Airport Gears Up for Annual Airshow

Tickets are on sale for the Bremerton Air Show in Washington state. The fourth annual event is scheduled for July 11-12 at Bremerton National Airport (KPWT) about 16 miles west of Tacoma.

Organizers said the event is a combination of historic aircraft, aerobatics, and family-friendly entertainment, calling it a “celebration of living history.” The airport has strong ties to World War II as the “PWT” in the identifier stands for Pacific Weapons Transfer, stemming from its days as a naval air facility used primarily for training and logistics.

The Bremerton Air Show is funded by the Collins Historical Aircraft Foundation, a Washington-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving historic aircraft and supporting the veterans who flew and maintained them. Each year the show aims to inspire future generations by letting them get up close to the aircraft they’ve read about or seen in movies—or perhaps were linked to an ancestor…
