Both suspects in violent unprovoked attack on Seattle senior citizen now in custody

SEATTLE — The two men accused of randomly attacking a senior citizen in downtown Seattle last month are now in the King County Jail after the second suspect surrendered to authorities at a court hearing on Wednesday morning.

Ahmed Abdullahi Osman, 29, appeared alongside his public defender for an arraignment hearing after a $200,000 warrant was issued for his arrest following the April 19 assault, which was captured by the city’s Real Time Crime Center surveillance cameras.

“This assault was unprovoked on a 77-year-old man who was walking in public,” prosecutor Ryan Turner told a judge at Wednesday’s hearing. “The state has extreme concerns for the safety of the community if Mr. Osman is released.”…
