FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WBMA) — Drivers who regularly travel Interstate 59/20 between Hueytown and Fairfield could see major changes in the coming years as the Alabama Department of Transportation seeks public input on a proposal to widen the busy corridor.
ALDOT is proposing to widen I-59/20 between Hueytown and Fairfield in Jefferson County by adding one lane in each direction. The project would run from Valley Road north to Fairfield Boulevard and would also replace two bridges at Aaron Aronov Drive and Valley Road.
