Community gathers in prayer for toddler fighting leukemia, infection

DECATUR, Ala. — Community members gathered for a prayer vigil Tuesday evening at the Cross of North Alabama to support a local toddler fighting a rare infection amid his battle with leukemia.

The vigil for 2-year-old Noah Legg took place at 6:30 p.m. at the 121-foot steel monument located on Shoal Creek Road, adjacent to Libby’s Catfish & Diner.

Noah was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in September 2025. According to family members, he was just five weeks away from beginning maintenance therapy when he developed a severe, rare fungal infection in his blood, alongside multiple blood clots and pneumonia…
