Legendary Alabama barbecue chain praised for having some of the best brisket in the country

An Alabama restaurant that recently celebrated 40 years in business is being lauded as one of the best chain restaurants in the country for brisket.

Tasting Table recently released its list of “5 chain restaurants serving the best brisket, according to customers,” and Full Moon Bar-B-Que was among eateries to garner a spot. The dining website “scoured countless reviews and social media posts looking for customer feedback praising the brisket specifically” at chains with 10 or more locations across the country.

Full Moon Bar-B-Que first opened in Birmingham’s Southside in 1986 and now has 16 locations spread throughout Alabama and Mississippi. Its menu, which remains mostly unchanged, includes barbecue turkey chicken, pork, ribs and more in addition to burgers, hot dogs and salads. The restaurant has also become known for its signature trimmings, like its famous slaw and chow-chow, as well as its popular half-moon cookies.
