Insect Invasion: 8 Alabama Cities Combatting Bed Bug Onslaught

Alabama is facing a growing bed bug crisis, with seven major cities ranking among the most infested in the United States according to recent national analysis. The parasitic insects are plaguing residents across the state, targeting hotels, apartment complexes, nursing homes, and private homes in alarming numbers.

The Scope of Alabama’s Bed Bug Problem

Pest Gnome’s recent analysis of 500 U.S. cities revealed that Alabama has an unusually high concentration of bed bug-infested locations. Shockingly, seven Alabama cities managed to crawl their way onto the national top 500 list, ranking from highest risk at #1 to lowest at #500. The analysis examined the number of accommodations, multi-unit residential buildings, and population density to determine infestation risk levels.

Terminix previously ranked Alabama even more severely, placing three cities in the top 50 most infested bed bug cities in the USA nationwide. This dual ranking across different methodologies confirms Alabama’s bed bug crisis is real and widespread.
