BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A man was shot and killed by Birmingham police during an arrest attempt Wednesday night on Bessemer Super Highway.
According to BPD, at around 9:30 p.m., BPD officers were attempting to apprehend two suspects wanted for multiple felonies in the 100 block of B.Y. Williams Drive.
During the attempt, one suspect exited the vehicle they were in, which BPD officers to open fire. The suspect was taken to UAB Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
