Fire at Vestavia Hills pool company prompts hazmat response, temporary Highway 31 shutdown

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WBMA) — A fire at a pool company in Vestavia Hills prompted a hazardous materials response and temporarily shut down Highway 31 overnight.

Vestavia Hills firefighters were dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire around 10:25 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire showing on the exterior of the building.
