BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle during the early morning hours of the Fourth of July was identified Monday.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports that 53-year-old Mona Jean Ables was attempting to cross the road on the 2300 block of 1st Avenue North around 2:01 a.m. when she was hit by a car. Ables was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding Ables’ death at this time…
