New report details payments to Huntsville electric board member’s consulting firm in connection to suspended Jefferson County probate judge

Newly released financial records reviewed by WBRC detail payments made by the Jefferson County Probate Court to the consulting firm of Huntsville Utilities Electric Board member Samuel T. Greene II during 2025 and 2026.

According to WBRC, Greene Consulting Group received at least $461,000 from the probate court’s Archival Discretionary Fund during that period. The television station reported the records include a January 2026 consulting contract that was marked “voided” and “terminated” eight days after it was signed, while later records show the firm received a $124,500 payment.

WBRC reported the Jan. 5, 2026, contract called for Greene Consulting Group to provide election-related services, including voter education, poll worker training, election communications and what the agreement described as an “Elections Operations Modernization Initiative.” The contract contains a handwritten notation stating it was “voided terminated” effective Jan. 13, 2026…
