The Arc of Shelby County is encouraging local businesses to partner with its Supported Employment Program, which connects qualified job seekers with developmental disabilities to employment opportunities while providing ongoing support for both employees and employers.
According to The Arc, the program helps businesses address workforce needs by matching employers with individuals who are prepared to contribute in a variety of workplace settings. Participants receive individualized job coaching, workplace training and continued support designed to help them succeed in long-term employment.
“Meaningful employment provides more than income—it fosters confidence, dignity, independence and a sense of purpose,” said Heather Bell-Lawing, director of employment services for The Arc of Shelby County. “Our goal is to help individuals reach their fullest potential while helping businesses meet their workforce needs.”…
