In some Birmingham neighborhoods, children born into poverty have less than a 2% chance of reaching the highest income levels as adults. City leaders say a new cradle-to-career initiative is designed to change those odds.
The announcement comes from the Birmingham Children and Youth Commission Report, released Thursday, which outlines how the city can better align resources to improve educational outcomes and expand opportunities for Birmingham children.
