Man accused of shooting parents, killing father, at Moody home

MOODY, Ala. ( WIAT ) – One person is dead, and one is injured after a man allegedly shot his parents at a residence in Moody Monday night.

At 11 p.m. on Monday, the Moody Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a possible domestic assault in the 800 block of Argo Margaret Road.

According to the MPD, upon arrival, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds, later identified as 61-year-old John D. Bowlin and 60-year-old Connie L. Bowlin. The incident happened at 100 Lee Garden Road, according to the Moody Police Chief.

Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene. Connie was transported to UAB hospital where she is currently listed in stable condition.

The suspect was identified as their son, 35-year-old John Adam Bowlin, according to the Moody Police Department.

John Adam was arrested at 2 a.m. in the 800 block of Argo Margaret Road, according to the Moody Police Chief, and taken into custody without incident with the help of the St. Clair County Swat Team. He is currently being held with bond at the St. Clair County Jail with charges pending.
