Today, January 23rd at 1 p.m. CST, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, AL-07, will host a press conference announcing a major $1 million Department of Justice (DOJ) grant that she helped secure for the Birmingham Board of Education to combat and prevent school violence in Birmingham City Schools. This funding is part of a $86.9 million investment from the DOJs Bureau of Justice Assistance STOP School Violence Grant Program to reduce violent crime in and around K-12 schools.
