Tuskegee native Lionel Richie will perform in Birmingham on May 28 with Earth, Wind and Fire as the opening act, according to Live Nation Entertainment.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Legacy Arena, 1898 Ninth Ave. N in Birmingham. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster, priced at $40.95, $60.95, $80.95, $100.95, $140.95, $180.95 and $225.95, plus fees.

Richie’s solo hit songs include “All Night Long,” “Hello,” “”Stuck on You,” Penny Lover, “Dancing on the Ceiling” and “Truly.” During his days with the Commodores, he performed on the group’s hits “Easy,” “Sail On,” “Still” and “Three Times a Lady.”
Richie has earned four Grammy Awards, an Oscar and a Golden Globe award. The singer-songwriter has sold more than 125 million albums and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In February, he will begin his seventh season as a judge on “American Idol.”
