Man arrested after allegedly threatening to commit ‘mass massacre’ at Birmingham bar where he had been banned

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A Gardendale man was arrested after he allegedly took to Facebook to threaten staff at a Birmingham bar over the weekend. Truman Fitzgerald, assistant public information officer with the Birmingham Police Department, said that at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, detectives were called to the Upside Down Plaza on Magnolia Avenue on reports of a threat that an “alarmed” staff had received.
