BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office (JCCO) is requesting assistance from the public with identifying a man found dead in Birmingham.
According to the JCCO, the man was found in the 2300 block of Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd at 7:53 a.m. on Jan. 21 after a citizen reported to 911 the finding of decomposing human remains inside a detached storage shed on a vacant property. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:15 a.m.
At this time, the cause of his death is pending additional laboratory studies. An autopsy found no evidence of trauma or foul play associated with the death.

It is estimated that he was between the ages of 20 and 50. He was 5’7” and 161 pounds; He was a white male with straight brown hair and “natural teeth.”
The man was found wearing a US pennie (2018) and one black string necklace with a metal cross pendant on it. He had an orthopedic pin installed in his left thigh as his left femur fracture had been repaired by orthopedic surgery.
