TARRANT, Ala. (WBRC) – Tarrant’s police chief has been placed on administrative leave without pay again, Mayor Wayman Newton announced Thursday. Newton said this action comes after Chief Wendell Major demonstrably disregarded a previous administrative leave directive by engaging in conduct that raises serious concerns about public safety, the constitutional rights of citizens and the chief’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
