Teenager charged with shooting person in road rage incident outside Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A teenager was arrested after allegedly shooting someone from his car outside Birmingham Tuesday afternoon.

Da’marriya De’vhon Carr, 19, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He has since been released from the Jefferson County Jail after posting $30,000 bond.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a reported shooting at the corner of Sugar Ray Drive and Bessemer Super Highway in Birmingham’s Roosevelt community. Deputies then spoke with the victim, who claimed that he and Carr had been involved in a road rage incident, where Carr drove up next to his car and shot him. The victim was shot in the hip, but his injuries were minor.

Carr was developed as a suspect after the Pleasant Grove Police Department matched the car he was driving and the license plate number to the description of the car involved in the shooting.
