Project to build housing on former Ensley High site moving forward

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After towering flames gutted the historic Ensley High School in 2018, it turned into a charred eyesore for several years. “They promised us they would probably tear it down, but it wasn’t doing anything. Just a burned, ugly building in the neighborhood that we wasn’t (sic) proud of at all,” Ensley Neighborhood President George McCall said.
