Arrest made in Birmingham gas station homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Birmingham Police Department announced an arrest Friday in connection to a fatal shooting that happened Tuesday.

Deeric Lewis, 21, of Center Point has been arrested on charges of murder, attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle in the death of Colby Cade.

Cade, 33, was shot and killed at the Shell gas station located at 1529 Old Springville Road. An adult woman was also injured as a result of the shooting.

Lewis was taken into custody on Friday by BPD officers at a residence in the Grayson Valley community. He was taken to BPD Headquarters for questioning and later booked into the Birmingham City Jail on a 48-hour felony extension.

Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and received warrants for his arrest.

Lewis will be placed in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
