City of Birmingham looking for retired teachers to help tutor 3rd graders

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin put out a call for retired teachers to help tutor 3rd grade students.

The city is looking for retired teachers and educators with flexible schedules to help 3rd graders between Feb. 21 – March 22. Educators that partake will receive $500 stipend.

Applications to be a part of the program must be submitted by Feb. 12.
