FULTONDALE, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A man trying to steal a beer from a business in Fultondale over the weekend was arrested and charged with robbery after he was stopped by a clerk.
According to the Fultondale Police Department (FPD), 61-year-old Adolph Grimmett, of Birmingham, attempted to steal a beer from a Fultondale Business on Sunday, but was confronted by a female clerk. Grimmett assaulted the clerk in an attempt to flee, but the woman fought back.

Upon arrival, FPD found the clerk sitting on top of the suspect.
Grimmett was charged with robbery in the third degree. No further information is available at this time.
