BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Birmingham Zoo and Spire Inc. are partnering up for a food bank donation event later this month.
On Feb. 24, visitors are invited to the Spire Safari Challenge Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those who bring a canned food item to benefit the Community Foodbank of Central Alabama can get 10% off their admission to the Zoo.
Animal adoptions only $14 at Greater Birmingham Humane Society through Saturday
Two learning events will be held to teach guests about ways the animals stay warm in the winter. At 11:00 a.m., there will be a zoo keeper chat in Alabama Wilds Barn. At 1:30 p.m., a second zoo keeper chat will be held in the Primates/South America Building.
Guests are asked to register while there for a chance to win a smart thermostat, a one-year family membership to the Birmingham Zoo or plush animals from the zoo gift shop. For more information, visit Spire Inc.’s website.
