Magic City Art Connection celebrates 41st art festival anniversary

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) – This weekend is the Magic City Art Connection’s 41st annual festival. Co-Director and Marketing Director Alex Kunzman joined the CBS 42 Morning News on Saturday to talk about what you can expect this year.

Kunzman’s mother founded the Magic City Art Connection in 1984, so he has been involved his entire life. He said ‘fine art’ is the slogan and that’s something you can expect at the festival.

“There’s going to be so much to discover whether you’re starting your art collection or building an art collection, an art festival is a great place to do that,” Kunzman said. “It’s just a disarming environment. All of the artists are there to have their work leave and find new homes, find new collections.”

Artists from Birmingham, the state, the region, and as far as Michigan, made their way this year to participate.

The festival runs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more here .
