Tarrant city council members decided not to terminate Police Chief Wendell Major at Monday night’s city council meeting. Mayor Newton placed Major on administrative leave without pay in February, after being accused of deleting murder charges, among other accusations. Lieutenant James Hill continues to serve as the acting chief.
