Alabama Forestry Commission says the state is seeing average number of wildfires

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Nearly 1,000 wildfires have burned across the state so far in 2024, but how does that compare to previous years?. A new study published by Lending Tree is getting a lot people talking because it shows our state with a 160% increase in wildfires between 2021 and 2022, but the Alabama Forestry Commission says there’s more to the story.
