Alabama man charged with killing two, including his grandfather, and injuring two others, police say

An Alabama man has been charged with shooting four people, two of whom died from their injuries including the suspect’s grandfather, police said Friday.

Kerry Jackson Jr., 31, of Birmingham, was charged with two counts of capital murder and two counts of attempted murder, police said, after a domestic dispute turned deadly.

Jackson is charged with kidnapping a member of his family at gunpoint Thursday afternoon and forcing the woman to drive him to two different addresses where two separate shootings occurred.

The suspect’s grandfather, Anthony Jackson, 76, and a family friend Laquitta Charisse Dunn, 49, were killed in the shootings.

The suspect’s father and another woman were injured and remained hospitalized Friday afternoon.
